Plastic promotional items are possible!

Plastic promotional items are possible!

How to differentiate between good and bad plastic when making your promotional items?

80% of the plastic produced is reusable in our recycling bins! Plastic isn't necessarily harmful to the environment. It's simply a matter of sorting it. The goal is to limit plastic production, which generates CO2 emissions and significant resource consumption during manufacturing, as well as to reduce the amount of plastic waste ending up in natural areas. On average, recycled plastic generates 45% less CO2, 94% less water, and 42% less energy than conventional plastic .

PET Polyethylene terephthalate

PET plastic is fully recyclable and loses very few of its properties during the recycling process, allowing it to be reused multiple times. PET is commonly used to manufacture bottles. When recycled, it is called RPET (Recycled PET). We offer a variety of promotional products made from RPET, such as bags and lightweight, modular items.

HDPE High Density Polyethylene

HDPE plastic is opaque, durable, and waterproof. It is commonly used in the food, medical, and chemical industries for manufacturing tanks, packaging, etc. It is also recyclable in appropriate recycling bins. This material is not widely used in promotional items and giveaways.

PVC Polyvinyl Chloride

PVC plastic is primarily manufactured in industrial settings: pipes,  flooring, and window frames. This material is only recyclable on an industrial scale, which isn't particularly problematic since it's not the most widely used plastic. It's also rarely used for promotional items.

LDPE Low Density Polyethylene

LDPE plastic is flexible, impact-resistant, and waterproof. It is among the most environmentally harmful materials because it is the most common type of plastic and is not recyclable in our recycling bins. This plastic is used for garbage bags and supermarket bags, for example. When manufacturing promotional items, this material is sometimes used to individually protect each item. We urge our clients to avoid individual packaging whenever possible, or to use a kraft paper bag to protect the promotional item if necessary.

PP Polypropylene

PP plastic is used in the automotive and food industries, notably for yogurt pots, for example. It has recently been added to the yellow recycling bin in areas where expanded recycling guidelines are in place (depending on the city). This plastic is often used to manufacture reusable water bottles for promotional items.

PS Expanded Polystyrene

Polystyrene (PS) is a hard, brittle plastic. It's very common and not recyclable. This plastic is often used to cushion products inside their packaging. Whenever possible, we suggest replacing PS with cardboard for cushioning your promotional items for a more eco-friendly approach.
