How can I tell if my logo is vectorized for printing on promotional items?

VECTORIZATION IN ADVERTISING OBJECTS

vector/vectorized format ?

Key takeaway: The advantage of a vector file is that it can be enlarged infinitely without ever losing quality.

There are two formats for a logo/image: raster (JPEG, PNG, PSD) and vector (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG). A vector file can be enlarged (zoomed) indefinitely without ever losing quality or becoming pixelated . Unlike a raster (pixelated) logo, which has its limitations, it will become pixelated and blurry when enlarged. The vector format is highly recommended for files intended for printing, especially for high definition or large-format printing.

Note: If your file is not vectorized but is of sufficient size, good quality (sharp image) and does not need to be enlarged, it may still be suitable for printing.

Tip : If you are sending an image or logo for printing on a product, it must be in CMYK (color mode) and 300 dpi (resolution).

How can I tell if my file is in vector ?

If your logo or file was created using software like Word or PowerPoint, then it is definitely not vectorized. Be aware that a file simply saved as AI, EPS, or PDF is not necessarily vectorized ; the easiest way to check is to enlarge it and see if it becomes pixelated.

Note : A logo or any other visual to be vectorized must be created in Illustrator.

vector file ?

To vectorize a logo composed of text and illustration, they must first be created on suitable software.

Two steps to create vectorized text :
Step 1: In Illustrator, write the text to be vectorized (choose the font, etc.)

Step 2: Select the text and then in “Text” click on “Vectorize”.

Vectorize the text

And there you have it, your text is vectorized!

Note that a shape created in Illustrator is automatically vectorized, as illustrated by this cloud. To see that these elements are vectorized, you can observe that the outlines are blue, with small squares around each corner and curves around the text or image.

PANTONE COLOUR FOR PROMOTIONAL ITEMS

Pantone color system work ?

Pantone colors are like a universal language of color. They consist of thousands of color shades identified by Pantone codes (for example, 2455C). These thousands of colors are not possible with CMYK . It's a paid system used by printers that ensures complete accuracy in matching the desired color . A file sent by email isn't always displayed the same way on screens and in print; in this situation, using Pantone colors is recommended to achieve the greatest possible precision .

Note :

– The CMYK color mode used for printing.
– The RGB color mode used for the web.
